Here we go...my first "happy" post. I plan on recording things and events that happen in my life that make me happy! Today I met up with a very dear friend of mine. Here's a little (probably unnecessary) background information: We met years ago and developed a great friendship with many ups and downs. We lose touch for a while and then reconnect- this happens over and over. Our relationship has been built on communication through technology because of distance issues. This friend is a member of the LDS church and will be leaving on his mission call for two years in a couple weeks. (He's going to Malaysia!) Because we were both in town for college winter break it was obvious that we would hangout. Anyways, we go to Kemah Boardwalk. It's so great to see him and catch up. He is a wonderful person. We had some delicious sushi for dinner and spent most of the night walking and talking on the boardwalk. We decided to ride a ride called The Bullet. It's an old wooden roller coaster. We wait in line for the first car of the ride. It was really rough and slammed us around-- it was so much fun! I'm laughing and he is screaming making crazy faces the whole time. After the ride stops and the cart is pulling along the tracks to return back, I look over at him and he has tears streaming across his face. At that time, it was hilarious! I died laughing at him (along with the strangers seated behind us). We had a great time. The ride took our picture so we decided to look at it. That was a horrible idea...let's just say I'm not photogenic going some hundred miles per hour. After that we decided to go see a movie. We saw "The Secret life of Walter Mitty", and it was very good. I enjoyed the movie. It's funny how when I go to the movies I want to see just about every movie they play a preview about. After the movie it was 1:00 a.m. and he took me home. I had a wonderful time. I will miss him.
